Abstract

Direct Printed Aligner and Removable Appliances: Where Are We Now?

by Graf Simon

In his lecture Simon Graf will present an update for direct printed aligners. He will show some cases with direct printed aligners and how to plan and produce them. In the first part, he will focus on the virtual planing, correct nesting of the aligners and 3d printing of the aligners. The second part will be about treatment possibilities with direct printed aligners, how to add functional elements, hooks or buttons, what to consider for changing the local thickness of the aligner-walls. As direct printing of aligner does allow more possibilities, he will point out different functions that can be added to aligners including treatment options with direct connection to mini-implants. And he will cover the actual literature and scientific research for direct printed aligners, guiding the future user of direct printed aligners on a safe and successfull path for in-house aligner production.
