Assistant Professor at the University of the State of São Paulo (UNESP), Brazil Member of the Brazilian Association of Orthodontics (ABOr) Author of the book MARPE: Expanding the limits of the Orthodontics Dr. Gurgel completed his general dental training at the University of the State of São Paulo, Brazil in 1985. The Master of Orthodontics Science degree came in 1994 and the PhD title was reached in 1999 at São Paulo University. As research, he has published more than 90 journal articles, among which are found especially laboratory and clinical research about skeletal anchorage, orthodontic wires and myfunctional therapy.
